Style: Beaux-Arts | ||
Truly ornate in character, Beaux-Arts Style brings to mind the “palaces” of American tycoons of the early 1900s. Beaux-Arts Style was reserved for grandiose public buildings and homes of the very rich.
Outstanding features of this style include masonry walls, symmetrical facades, entry porch roofs supported by classical columns and pilasters sometimes paired and using Ionic or Corinthian capitals, and elaborate ornamentation including moldings, medallions, dentils, brackets and other lavish features.
