Style: Gothic Revival | ||
This style is an early 19th century romantic adaptation of the Gothic style, inspired by medieval architecture and intended to resemble storybook castles. It is characterized by steep pitched roofs, elaborate trim along roof edges, high dormers, pointed-arched windows and doorways. Domestic Gothic style features steeply pitched roofs, often with elaborate decorative trim, arched, sometimes pointed Gothic windows, battlements, parapets, quatrefoils, oriel windows and verandas.
